Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist who currently competes in the UFC flyweight division. Valentina is her younger sister, as well as a fellow UFC competitor. Antonina Shevchenko began her combat sports journey by becoming an Muay Thai Kickboxer and debuted at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko was the winner of the event and beat Suzane Miller in the finals by a the unanimous vote. Antonina Shevchenko was awarded a second medal in 2007 with a bronze, a silver in 2008, and a gold in 2011, and was crowned in the position of IFMA Amateur World MuayThai Champion in 2016. Antonia started her professional journey at the age of 23 in 2003. Antonina has been awarded numerous titles including the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Champion, the Lion Fight Lightweight World Championships as well as the WMC as well as Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's final fight took place at Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She was able to win with a majority. Antonina Shychenko's pro MMA debut took place in 2002, during the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan when she faced Anara Bayanova. She won 3-0 following the second-round TKO. The following two fights were won at WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. Shevchenko had a brief break from MMA and focused on her boxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 against Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko beat Anissa by a unanimous vote and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. After leaving the league in 2018, Shevchenko joined Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina displayed her slashing skills by knocking out Nievera by knees. Antonina was offered an UFC invitation following her win. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hitters Finale, where she faced Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modeafferi in a unanimous decision. But, she fell in her second fight because of an unanimous verdict. Antonina bounced off the loss, and won Lucie Prudilova's battle in UFC on ESPN Covingtonvs. Lawler with a rear naked choke submission. This was by far the most exciting fight of the night in this fight. Shevchenko went 1-2 during her subsequent three bouts beating Ariane Lipski before falling to Katlyn Chookagian, and Andrea Lee. Antonina lost her last fight to Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos -Walker.
